Central Valley and Highland Mills homeowners call us for additions, second stories and renovations. We design and engineer each project in house.
Woodbury is a town and village of about 36 square miles in Orange County, with the hamlets of Central Valley and Highland Mills. Schunemunk Mountain forms part of its western line, Cromwell Lake lies northwest of Central Valley, and the village of Harriman sits partly within the town at the junction of the Thruway and Route 17.
Homes here range from older hamlet houses to newer subdivisions on hilly, wooded lots. Additions often depend on stepped footings, drainage and retaining walls, and our engineers design them together with the architecture.

In New York, building permits are issued by the town, village or city building department under the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, and zoning comes first. When a design needs relief from a setback, coverage or height limit, it goes to the Zoning Board of Appeals, and many villages and towns also require Architectural Review Board or Planning Board approval for exterior changes.
Sloped lots near Schunemunk and the surrounding hills affect foundations and grading. We study the site early and design for actual conditions.
Newer homes are often framed with engineered floor and roof systems. We design new openings, beams and connections that work with them.
However your project is approved, we deliver signed and sealed drawings to you, support you and your contractor through the permit submission and answer the building department's review comments in house. Read how a project moves from consultation to close out on our process page.
